Alecia Reading has been practicing exclusively in the divorce and family law area for over 25 years. She has handled thousands of cases over the years, and is comfortable in both highly contested situations, as well as the more simple uncontested arena. She is known affectionately by her closest attorney friends as a bulldog, and is not intimidated by any legal situation or opponent. No case is too complicated for her, and she has significant experience with high asset and complex cases. She has amassed a large collection of professional associations over the years in order to fully assist her clients in what is possibly the most difficult time of their lives. Aggressive representation is her motto only in cases where aggression is needed. She believes in constant communication with her client in order to keep the client informed as the case progresses. Ms. Reading has also received an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale- Hubbell, recognized by her peers as having superior knowledge in the divorce and family law area. Ms. Reading has been involved in over 300 multi-day and multi-issue complicated divorce trials, and over 1,000 family court trials. She is a certified family mediator, and has participated in excess of 2,000 mediations, knowing that there are many divorce and family situations where the parties wish to part in a more calm and friendly way. She always listens to her client, and will take the case in whatever direction her client requests, within reason and ethical boundaries. During law school, Ms. Reading clerked for several family and supreme court judges, which taught her invaluable lessons on how to address the court and treat fellow attorneys and litigants. After two associations with well-respected firms early on in her career, Ms. Reading opened her own firm. Over the years, Ms. Reading has represented many local businessmen and women, doctors, lawyers, and even a few professional athletes, including the spouse of a World Series winning outfielder. Ms. Reading has also taught as an adjunct professor for more than 7 years for several community colleges, as well as a law school, and has taught a continuing legal education course on mediating divorce and family court cases.
