Ohio CLE Requirements

Total CLE Requirements: Each attorney must complete a minimum of 24 hours of accredited continuing legal education each biennial (two-year) reporting period, with at least two and one-half (2 ½) credit hours related to professional conduct, including:

    • 30 minutes of instruction on substance abuse, including causes, prevention, detection, and treatment alternatives,

60 minutes of instruction related to the Code of Professional Responsibility, and

60 minutes of instruction related to professionalism

CLE Deadline: June 30th
Reporting: Ohio is not a self-reporting jurisdiction.
Reporting Information: The reporting period is July 1st to June 30th. All lawyers have until July 31st to make an annual report to The Bar, except lawyers newly admitted to The Bar who are exempt from the annual requirements for their first reporting period in which they are admitted.
