Colorado CLE Requirements

Colorado Newly Admitted CLE Requirement

Total CLE Requirements: Each attorney must earn 45 general hours of accredited continuing legal education over a compliance period of three years, with at least seven (7) credit hours in legal ethics.

CLE Deadline: December 31st
Reporting: If you participate in a program held outside of Colorado, you are required to report your credits to the Board of Continuing Legal and Judicial Education.
Reporting Information: All attorneys are subject to the Colorado Continuing Legal Education requirements on the date of their admission to the bar.

For newly admitted attorneys, their first compliance period will begin on their date of admission and end on December 31st of the third, full calendar year following the year of admission. The initial compliance period includes the balance of the year of admittance plus the three subsequent calendar years.

Reporting Information: For veteran attorneys, compliance periods will begin on January 1st and end on December 31st of the third year following the start of this compliance period.
