Before his passing in 2016, Professor Joseph L. Marino, Jr. became famous for creating innovative methods that changed the way modern bar review is taught. He was a professor at New York Law School for almost 20 years, and in 2000, was named Director of the Academic Skills Program, where he developed two new courses. For almost four decades, he helped thousands of students prepare for the bar exam and earned many awards and commendations along the way.

Emily Marino Director of Marino Bar Tutors, Emily handles almost all aspects of this business, from hiring and training tutors to matching them with prospective clients. Having run Marino Legal with her husband for 35 years, Emily plays an active role in managing all three Marino Legal businesses. She earned her B.S. from the University of Maryland and her M.S. from Adelphi University.

Michael Marino, Esq. Director of Marino Legal, Michael joined the family business in 2009. Responsible for taking Marino Legal into the digital age, he’s constantly working to make the MarinoLegalCLE.com experience a pleasant one, while also keeping an eye on sons Maxwell, Theodore, and Benjamin, potentially the fourth generation of Marino’s in the law. After earning his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, Michael was an adjunct professor at New York Law School. Currently, Michael is the author of Westlaw’s McKinney’s Civil Practice and Rules Form Book. 

Max Shoengold, Esq.  Director, Max develops and implements Marino Legal’s expansion of our Bar Review and Continuing Legal Education programs nationwide. He ensures that all newly admitted attorneys receive the requisite training to allow them to serve their clients to the highest standards of the legal profession. Max earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. from Brandeis University. Prior to joining Marino Legal, he practiced for several years as a litigation associate in law firms in New York City and was awarded a Legal Fellowship with the National Labor Relations Board.
