Deepankar Mukerji is a partner in the law firm of Goldfarb Abrandt Salzman & Kutzin LLP. He conducts a general law practice in the areas of elder law, Medicaid planning, estate administration and planning, guardianships, real estate and trusts. He is well known for his work in the elder law arena. Prior to joining Goldfarb Abrandt Salzman and Kutzin, he was Counsel to the firm of Keane & Beane PC, which he joined in 2007 after 12 years with the Westchester County Department of Social Services, where his responsibilities included administration of the Medicaid home care, institutional assistance, and liens and recoveries programs.
Deepankar received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. fromthe State University of New York at Buffalo. He is admitted in the State Courts of New York and Connecticut.
Deepankar is active in the New York State Bar Association, Elder Law and Special Needs Section, and currently serves as Treasurer, Co-Chair of the Section’s Legislation Committee, and Executive Committee Member. He is also a former Chair of the Elder Law Committee of the Westchester County Bar Association.
Deepankar is a frequent lecturer on elder law issues for the New York State Bar Association, Westchester County Bar Association and Pace University School of Law. His lectures have included: “Hot Topics in Elder Law: Home Care”; “Hot Topics in Elder Law: Medicaid Issues”; and “Paying for Long Term Care”. In 2014, his article “The Future of Long Term Care” was published by the Westchester Business Journal. His articles in the Elder Law Attorney include “Article 17-A Guardianships — In Need of a Legislative Overhaul” and “Post DRA Planning: Unpaid Viable Bill Reduces NAMI”. He is a former Editor and Contributor for the Elder Law E-News.
Deepankar is on the Board of Directors for the Center for Aging in Place. He is also active in the Long Term Care Council of Westchester and the Caregiver Collaborative of the Westchester County Public-Private Partnership for Aging Services.
