Sylvie Richards is the founding principal of the Law Office of Sylvie L. F. Richards, Esq., PLLC. She established the boutique law practice in order to focus on individualized and personalized legal services for clients. In her practice, she works to educate her clients on the issues that are of concern to them at different stages in their life, making certain that they understand and are comfortable with each decision that they make. Sylvie founded a firm that deals specifically with legal issues faced by individuals rather than business or corporations. For this reason, the Law Office offers different pricing models for legal services to align the services of the law practice with the best interests of our clients. Sylvie’s goal is to create a long-term relationship with her clients, helping them resolve legal issues that arise throughout their life. Sylvie establishes trusting and collaborative relationships with her clients, knowing that the issues that are discussed are very close to the client’s heart. In addition to her law degree from New York Law School, Sylvie Richards holds a Ph.D. in French and Romance Philosophy from Columbia University. She is an internationally recognized teacher, scholar and writer, and she has been invited to speak at international conferences in Europe, Asia, and Central America. Sylvie Richards is admitted to practice law in New York. She is active in the legal profession, being a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association where she is a member of the Trusts and Estates Law Committee, the American Constitution Society, and the New York County Lawyers Association. She regularly serves as a judge for Moot Court competitions at Columbia Law School and New York Law School. Sylvie also has served as president of two nonprofit organizations. Sylvie regularly offers free seminars on home ownership in conjunction with Chase Bank where she will answer your questions on the process of entering into a contract to purchase a home, and the closing process. She is a licensed real estate broker in New York and also a Notary Public.
