Satisfy your entire New York newly admitted CLE annual requirement in just one day!

As of January 1, 2026, the temporary COVID-19 rule waiver that allowed teleconference formats for Skills will no longer satisfy the Skills requirement for newly admitted attorneys . Skills credits must now be earned in a traditional live classroom setting.

The Marino Institute for Continuing Legal Education is the largest Bridge the Gap provider in both New York and New Jersey, and we have now adjusted our CLE programs to meet this rule change. Marino Legal Academy’s Bridge the Gap events will now be a single day live in-person containing the 9 credits that must be done live (Ethics + Skills), plus an online bundle containing the 7 remaining Professional Practice credits, which are on-demand and may be completed at your own pace.

One live day plus 7 on-demand online credits each of the first two years will fully satisfy your newly-admitted attorney requirements for New York. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.

Similarly, New Jersey has also removed the temporary waiver that allowed its CLE requirement to be completed online, so NJ attorneys must now complete 12 of their mandatory 24 CLE credits every 2 years in a live format as well.

Several times a year, we now offer a live 12 credit day that will allow both new-admit and veteran NJ attorneys to meet their live requirements in one day as well.
