Conflict Diamond Legislation - 18763

Faculty: Cecilia Gardner, Esq.

In Ms. Gardner’s most recent lecture on gemstones and diamonds, she goes into depth on the Clean Diamond Trade Act which helps prevent “blood diamonds” from being sold in the United States. In this lecture, which is just as riveting as the Leonardo DiCaprio movie, you will learn exactly how in several sub-Saharan African countries, rebel insurgent groups fund their military activities by mining and selling rough diamonds and how they make their way overseas and on to your finger. Moreover, you will learn what steps are being taken to ensure that this practice will not continue.
