As of January 1, 2026, the temporary COVID-19 rule waiver that allowed teleconference formats for Skills will no longer satisfy the Skills requirement for newly admitted attorneys . Skills credits must now be earned in a traditional live classroom setting.

The Marino Institute for Continuing Legal Education is the largest Bridge the Gap provider in both New York and New Jersey, and we have now adjusted our CLE programs to meet this rule change. Marino Legal Academy’s Bridge the Gap events will now be a single day live in-person  containing the 9 credits that must be done live (Ethics + Skills), plus an online bundle containing the 7 remaining Professional Practice credits, which are on-demand and may be completed at your own pace.
